“Homeschooling is really hard. It’s not for everyone.”
After having their third child, moving into a homestead on five acres that needs A LOT of work, and living through a pandemic, Pat and Taz are back to podcasting.
In their most recent episode, Pat and Taz sit down together to discuss the “woes” and “great parts” (i.e. the pros and cons) of homeschooling. Homeschooling is a hot topic, and it’s popularity is growing every year. Pat and Taz address the pros and cons of homeschooling nicely. Taz highlights the pros for their family, and Pat hits the cons. Most impressive in this episode is Taz’s steady answers to some common homeschooling “disadvantages” that Pat presents. These two don’t shy away from hard conversations, as is evidenced in this episode.
Pat and Taz believe that parenting is the most important role they have; it’s obvious in their level of engagement with their three boys. The question posed heavily in this episode is whether the benefits of having them at home outweigh the benefits of having them in school. They have differing opinions, but their ultimate shared goal is to continually assess whether they, as a couple, and their boys are thriving.
Are YOU considering homeschooling? Maybe you are in the thick of evaluating the pros and cons of homeschooling your children, both for yourself, your marriage, and your children. Many people laud the pros of homeschooling. But homeschooling also has its critics.
Listen to decide whether Pat and Taz resolved their differences in what they individually believe is best for their family.
